Discord Cosplay -WIP- by Olive-Owl Discord Cosplay -WIP- by Olive-Owl
Will be moved into scraps or removed entirely once I finish the cosplay! This is basically what I've been working on since summer vacation started.

For the convention Anime North this year, I decided to cosplay Discord from My Little Pony. Coming up with the costume was interesting considering his slender build and height are factors in his design. I'm personally not a huge fan of gijinkas, so I decided to take a different approach and that I would create a costume where his head would sit on the top rim of a sewn hoodie. Basically, it looks like I'm wearing an animal or skinned suit of him. And as you can see in the last photo, he looks like an animal rug or hunted trophy.

I've progressed a bit more in the cosplay since I took these photos, but if anyone has any tips or feedback they'd like to share involving costumes or sewing, please comment away! His animal arms, tail and legs will be made soon.

Done with various textured fabrics, cotton, acrylic paint and foam.
Discord belongs to Hasbro. Model in the second-last photo is me.

I find that head incredibly impressive because it's made out of fabric.

Otherwise, this is such a cool idea. if not SUPER dorky, you dork.

And I can't wait to see it finished! :D

The head is also so very soft and fluffy because it's made of fabric. I'm very happy with the way his head turned out for the whole cosplay. Just have his legs to do now so finished cosplay pictures should be up sometime soon. c:

Thanks! Yeah I know it's dorky bawww

Oh man, this looks so amazing so far! You really have a knack for being creative and being able to apply that into a well-made costume. Great choice for a character to play, too. I'm sure it'll earn lots of praise at the con. My brother would flip; maybe you'll run into him. ;P

Thank you very much! :D I usually like to cosplay characters that I don't believe will be seen as often, so the few costumes I create tend to stand out cause of it. Haven't seen too many Discord cosplays when I was searching for them online so I thought it'd be fun to dress up as the God of Chaos. I'll admit I never really cosplayed a character from a huge popular series before, so I'm curious what types of reactions I'll get. :0 Hope your bro gets to see this then if he's a MLP fan!

Thank you! :iconfluttershyyayplz:
This is also the dorkiest hoodie. Discord looks ridiculous ontop of my head.

It does look like a skinned animal O_o
As far as I can tell it looks pretty awesome XD Sadly, the only advice I could really offer is if I held the piece in my hands (so I could look at the stitching and stuff). It's hard for me to see anything from pictures. But from what I can see, the face looks really nice. Excellent details. And the body looks good as far as I can tell. Does it have sleeves or anything?
Still, awesome work Alex XD

Yeah it does. I'm quite amused by that to be honest. Slayed the GOD OF CHAOS and made him into a fireplace rug.

Thanks Hawkeye! And I figured any sort of feedback would probably involve others actually seeing the attire physically before critiquing it. Just thought I should ask anyway if others have tips to throw at me. PX The finalized cosplay will have sleeves and digitigrade legs. I've never made digitigrade legs before, so I'm taking it slow to make sure I don't rush and mess up the costume along the way.

Thanks again Hawkeye! It's always such a pleasure to hear your feedback.
